Sanskrit Derivation Of Ayurveda Vata:

'Va Gatigandhanayo' (Sushruta Samhita, Sutra Section, 21/5)
This root is used with 'Ta' suffix and 'Ounadika' prefix.
The meaning of this word is movement. It has three connotations - knowledge, movement and
getting something. So Vata is the factor that is responsible for these three
features of our body or living being - knowledge, movement and getting
something.
Qualities Of Ayurveda Vata:
Charaka described the seven properties of Vata. The seven properties of
ayurvedic vata dosha don't reflect only what is implied by their literal
meaning. The seven properties are the representation of physical,
chemical, physiological, pathological and psychological aspects of our body.
Dryness can be a sensation or a feeling or a set of some responsible biochemicals
in body. In the same way, other properties are analyzed.

is found more in such places - urinary bladder, intestine, pelvic region, thigh,
bones and ear.

Though all the ayurveda doshas are essential for life, health and disorders
but rest of the two - pitta and kapha are lame without vata dosha. Vata is said
to be the most important of the three doshas.

extolled the activities of ayurveda vata dosha in a very elaborate and
interesting manner such as maintenance of body, the basis of all five
