both the partners. This action has four distinct divisions in Ayurveda.
Ayurvedic Herbs Promoting The
Quantity & Quality Of Semen:
This group of herbs increase the quantity of semen by
enhancing the cycle of semen production. Plus they increase the quality of semen
- the sluggishness of sperms is reduced and the motility of sperms increase, the
sperms become more active, the dead sperms' count is reduced. These herbs
possess sweet taste, unctuous and cold properties. e.g. White Musali. This group
is useful in Oligospermia. Normal sexually active persons should also use these
herbs to maintain optimal sexual health.
Ayurvedic Herbs For Erectile
Dysfunction:
Herbs for ED are sex stimulants. They promote the sexual
drive and sex desire. e.g. Ashwagandha, Musali, Sambal Musali etc. Their effect
is mediated in four ways.

Some herbs like Nux vomica affect the spinal nervous centers
like Sacral plexus.

The pleasant sensations like the attractive women, the touch,
the smell etc cause the sexual stimulation via the Central nervous system.

Some herbs irritate the urinary bladder and this cause some
reflex sexual stimulation.
Ayurvedic Herbs For Premature
Ejaculation:
These herbs delay the ejaculation of semen and increase the
copulation time. These are with astringent and dry property. e.g. Samundarshosha,
Jaiphala, Akarakara.
Ayurvedic Herbs Promoting
Semen Production & Its Discharge:
Some herbs promote the semen production as well as these
induce its expulsion as well by promoting the sexual desire. e.g. Milk, Masha.
Herbal
Anaphrodisiacs:
Anaphrodisiac herbs reduce sexual drive and sexual drive. In
the extreme cases these can cause impotency. This action is mediated in two
ways.

Some of the alkalis destroy the semen or decrease its
production.

Some herbs sedate the nerves responsible for sexual
stimulation like Suchi, Karpura, Sarpagandha.

Vitiated Semen:
Like blood purifying herbs, these promote the quality of
semen. e.g. Kutha, Kataphala.
