ContributorsAbout Us - The Team of Contributors behind Holistic HerbalistDr. Vikrama Aditya Tomar:
Ayurveda, Yoga and Holistic Living had been more than a part of my life, even before my completing the school and during my teenage. Qualifying the medical entrance examination and then getting admission in Rishikul State Ayurveda College at Haridwar just advanced that longing of my heart. The degrees in Ayurveda and Western Herbal Medicine moved me on this path as a professional, as Ayurveda doctor. I take great pride in this as I consider Ayurveda as "The Mother of all systems of Holistic Living and Holistic Medicine". The project of the www.holistic-herbalist.com was in my mind through the final years of my graduation and now I am happy that it has manifested and progressing and flourishing. My interest in Yoga and meditation advanced deeper understanding of Ayurveda and the holistic nature of life, healthcare and medicine. I do feel that it is our approach toward health, medicine and herbs that turns them into holistic tools. Even though life and herbs are intrinsically holistic, their holistic potential is manifested by the way we use herbal remedies and the way we live life. The integrated and synergistic background of North Indian Ayurveda, South Indian Ayurveda, Panchakarma, Yoga, Modern Herbal Medicine and Researches puts me in a unique position to share my viewpoint with you. I do have immense respect for all the herbalists, alternative practitioners, Yoga teachers and Ayurvedists doing great work in this field, both in East and West. Many persons in the West are doing splendid job in promoting the Holistic Living and Medicine based on Ayurveda. I admire their work and get inspiration from all of them and extend my thanks to them. You find me as main contributor for Holistic Herbalist but I deeply feel that the knowledge of traditions and past generations and synergistic use of present resources is the only true 'contributor'. I simply try to become a good medium to pass that wisdom with its originality while keeping its practicality for modern time. I try to contribute, pass through and mediate the wisdom in its holistic sense. I pray for God's blessings and your good will to continue doing it. I would be working regularly to update and expand my resources so that Holistic Herbalist could serve the interests of community of herbal health seekers and herbalists in a better and greater way. Best Regards, Dr Vikrama Aditya Tomar Some of my formal and informal qualifications are...
Holistic Herbalist Logo - Depicting five dimensions of my life My Sweet Family:Monica is my dear wife and mom of two sweet sons. Though she holds post-graduate degree in Zoology, a PG diploma in Fashion Designing and Computer Application, she is by heart a good artist and fashion designer. She helps me regularly in graphics as I don't have a good sense of color combinations. And I am thankful to her smoothly devoting a great deal of our family time to work on this project beside my busy clinical practice. Contact Us Supportive Friends:Vishu Tanwar - A Post graduate from IIT Delhi, now working as a Financial Analyst at Deutsch Bank. I share my 'dry' technical discussions with him and he bears with me with enthusiasm. Virendra Tanwar - My elder brother, who was a great example for living with a positive and spiritual attitude. He demonstrated an example of great poise and composure when he met with Chronic Renal Failure. His later life, when he struggled with this serious health condition even after kidney transplant and lived more gracefully than the time when he was robust and healthy, is a great and silent source of inspiration for me. I keep the great moments with him as treasure, when we together laughed, discussed spiritual topics and pondered the mystery of life and spirituality, during his insomnia dominated nights mixed with ceaseless pain, anxiety and a bouquet of other serious disorders (Hepatitis C, bleeding from nose, swelling over body, anemia, serious lung infection) that comes with Chronic Renal Failure. I am surprised how he could maintain the composure and balance when even 5% of what he had could turn a normal person insane. I believe that we would do better in passing his legacy of faith and belief in God and Gayatri Mantra to coming generations. I love the concept of grabbing goodness and leaving the weakness of a person. I thank several of my Ayurveda doctor friends with whom I shared great moments of discussion and who shared many threads of life with me. I do cherish them in my heart and don't like to limit them to a list.
