10) Punaranavadi Gug.:
This gug. formulation is useful in Gout and Rheumatoid arthritis esp. when there
is swelling. It supports edema and Ascites as an adjuvant. One of my patients
was given this formulation and his serum creatinine level (Indicator of Kidney
function) that was earlier 2.2 mg came down to 0.8 within two months. (Bhaisajya

11) Panchamrit Loha Gug.:
This is an herbo-mineral preparation that should not be used presently outside
Indian Subcontinent. Besides herbs, it contain purified mercury, purified
sulphur, silver, mica, suvarnamakshika and Iron. The last four ingredients are
in bhasma or ash form. These are processed in specific manner following the
rigorous ayurvedic method.
Many of such preparations has passed successfully clinical trials for drug
toxicity. Yet more research work and wider acceptance is under way. And one
should avoid such preparation if one's country is not accepting such
formulations.
It is greatly useful in sciatica pain, frozen shoulder, backache, knee joint
pain. Nervous weakness and resulting headache, insomnia, indigestion and
flatulence are relieved by this. (Bhaisajya Ratnavali, Sidha Yoga Sangraha)
12) Mahayogaraja Gug.:
This is one of the most reputed formulation based on Guggul in India. It is a
great combination of 25 herbs and 7 mineral ashes.
It is used for Vata or degenerative disorders like Rheumatoid arthritis, Gout,
Paralytic disorders, Osteoarthritis, Seminal and menstrual diseases. It
strengthens the nerves.
Dysmenorrhea or painful menstruation, neuralgia or nerve pains are relieved by
this. Epilepsy, hysteria, chronic headache are also relieved. It is never given
alone. Herbal decoctions or powders or oils or other preparations are given
along with it that support well this formulation and the particular disorder. (Sharangadhara

13) Yogaraja Gug.:
This is another most commonly used herbs only based preparation of guggul. It
does not have any minerals or metals! It does not vitiate Pitta like some guggul
preparations.
This is a good herbal detox and is a strengthening agent for nerves. This
nervine tonic can safely be used for long time. It supports multiple system of
body. It is used in flatulence or gas trouble that does not respond to normal
herbal preparations.
14) Rasnadi Gug.:
This herbal forumlation is useful for arthritis and joints disorders. It
supports well sciatica, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis and other
Vata disorders. (Yoga Ratnakara)
15) Lakshadi Gug.:
Lakshadi gug. is helpful in promoting the union of bone fracture when proper
surgical or orthopedic care had been taken care of. It can be used in pains
after injury in bones or muscles.
16) Saptavinshati Gug.:
This herbal supplement is good for fissures, fistula, sinus, sores. It relieves
chronic condition in a better way that acute conditions. Wounds that are chronic
and with discharge also respond. (Bhaisajya Ratnavali)
17) Sinhanada Gug.:
Herbs and castor oil based preparation is useful especially for Rhematoid
arthritis in Ayurvedic medicine. It is also used in gout, osteoarthritis,
flatulence. Conditions when there is swelling with joints pain do respond well
to this combination of botanicals. (Ayurveda Sara Sangraha)
18) Haritakiyadi Gug.:
Terminalia chebula, dried Ginger and Vidhara based herbal formulation is good
for excess Vata in gastrointestinal tract or simply flatulence and chronic
constipation. It is useful in Vata that is associated with vitiated mucus.

These herbal preparations are considered ayurvedic medicine in India. Usually
patients take them after being prescribed by a qualified ayurvedic doctor.
Avoid using them just after reading this informational content. All the above
