Different Species:
Another plant is famous by the name of Black Vasa, particularly in Bengal
region. The latin name of black malabar nut is Justicia gendarussa Linn. f.
Another plant with similar features is found in Kerala and its latin name
is Adhatoda beddomei Clarke.
The Plant Of Malabar
Nut:
This is a bush
with 4 to 8 feet height.
Leaves:
Leaves are 3 to
7 inch long, hairy, malodorous, oval and narrow at both ends. The petiole is one
inch long.
Flowers:
It is yellowish
white in color and 1 to 3 inch long. Flowering period is from February to March.
The Legume Or Pod:
It is one inch long and
hairy. There are four seeds that are smooth, nodular and with constrictions.
